Some Wonderful People

Okay, so I've talked about my youth group, but I haven't really... introduced my youth group, I guess you could say. :D So today I thought I would talk about some of my friends that I've made there. :)

Shelby- She was the first person that I met there on my first day. She was so sweet and welcoming, and talked to me for a little while. :) I usually sit with her for the youth service. :)

Emma- No, not my sister. :D Emma is one of the nicest girls I've met, and a few weeks back we exchanged phone numbers, and text pretty often. :) She's from Sweden, which I think is awesome!! :)

Mariana- Mariana and I started to get to know each other in Bible Study, when we were assigned partners who would check up on each other during the week, see how they're doing, etc. Well, we got each other, and at first we emailed, but now we text. :) She's so sweet. :)

Jacob- This guy is awesome. :) He and I go to the same co-op place, and he's really nice and easy to talk to. :) He plays the drums in the youth band, and he's just a really great guy. :)

Kate- Just recently I've started to get to know Kate better.  Last weekend, Emma, Kate, and I went to get frozen yogurt together, and that was fun. :) She's really nice. :)

Also, I've met two sweet ladies that lead my Bible Study. And my youth pastor, Pastor Joe, is awesome and fun.

My youth group is just... amazing. If you're ever in town, let me know, and I'd love to take you to my youth group. ;)

Here is a picture of some of the people from my youth group. :) We went to the movie, Oz, a few weeks ago. :)

Have a great weekend! And a wonderful Easter celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ!

Love,
Hannah

My Week!

Hey guys!

How are you? :) I am pretty good, but busy!

Anyway, I thought I would tell you what I've been doing this week. Like make a schedule of what my week was like. :D Okay, here it is:

Thursday, March 14- My family and I left with my little cousin, Will, to go up to my grandparents house. It was a long drive of five hours.  Today was my PawPaw's birthday!

The cake! :D

Friday, March 15 through Sunday, March 17- The weekend was spent hanging out with family, and enjoying the countryside.  My dad came up on Friday night with my aunt, uncle, and other little cousin, Audrey. Oh and also my dog, Sadie. :D Our cousins, Samantha and Jacob, came over on both Friday and Saturday, and that was really fun. :) We drove home Sunday night, all except for my sister, Emma, who came home with my aunt, uncle, and cousins the next day. And on Friday it was Danielle's sister's birthday, and on Sunday it was this girl's birthday. :)

Emma and Will feeding Patches, the goat!

Jacob and Ethan fishing!

Exploring! :D

Monday, March 18- this day was spent doing Biology homework, since I was sick over the break and hadn't been able to do it before. :)

Tuesday, March 19- Biology and Spanish class today. :) It went pretty good, at least there were no tests. :D After classes, we went out for lunch, since my dad works from home Tuesdays. Then I came back and did history homework. On Tuesday it was Meg's birthday!

Wednesday, March 20- Today I did some English homework, and then I had the rest of the day to myself. :)

Thursday, March 21- Had my American Literature and American and Modern History classes today.  :) Plus, another birthday that I can't mention, but you know who you are girl. ;)

Friday, March 22- today I did most of my Spanish homework, and then worked on my story a little bit and read a lot.  Made plans with two sweet girls from church to get together on Sunday before Bible Study!

Okay, if you got through all of that, you're awesome! I hope it wasn't too boring! :D

Love,
Hannah

Spring Break

Hola mi amigos!  Como estan?

I am... eh. :( Let me explain. :)

This week is my Spring Break, as it is probably for some of you as well. :) And, believe me, I was so looking forward to this break to relax and do some fun things.

But Sunday I woke up sick.  I spent both Monday and Tuesday on the couch literally all day, reading books on my Kindle and watching the occasional movie.  I was so frustrated.  And then I couldn't go to youth group last night, which was going to be different because the Junior Highers were invited,  because I'm still feeling a bit sick. :( So my brother and sister went instead.

I was really upset that my spring break had to be spent this way, when all I really wanted to be doing was going on the computer, and doing things I don't feel like doing when I'm sick. :P

But, God does have a plan for everything, so even though I was and still am mad about my spring break, I just have to trust in God.  He knows what He is doing. :) For instance, at Youth Group last night, they played dodgeball, and I absolutely dislike dodgeball, so maybe He planned it so I wouldn't have to be there. :D It sounds silly, but it definitely could be true!

I hope you guys are having a great week!  Done/doing anything fun?  I'd love to know! :)

Talk to you guys soon!

Love,
Hannah

Youth Group

Hey guys.

How are you doing?  I'm doing good.

Last night I had youth group... and it was just... amazing.

My pastor was talking about forgiveness and unconditional love. Ever heard the phrase "Forgive and forget?" He said that if we are Christians, our sins have been forgotten.

Three people got saved last night.  It was so awesome, you could really feel that God was in that room with us.  Everyone was praying for and hugging each other.

It was also really emotional... I started crying, and that's saying something, because I usually never cry.  One of my friends that I met there recently, she prayed for me. And I just can't really describe that feeling that came over me... like I actually belonged somewhere and fellow Christians loved me for who I was.

Sorry for such a short post today.  I just felt the need to let my thoughts out.  Thanks so much for reading guys. <3

Love,
Hannah

P.S. I am glad because I don't have my early morning English class today!  My teacher is out of town. :) Also, my youth group might go see a movie tomorrow! I'm excited!

Chapter 2!

Hey guys!

Thank you so much for your sweet feedback on Chapter 1 of my story!  Ya'll are all so nice!

I must admit, I was a bit nervous posting it... I wasn't sure what you guys would think of it.  :)

But now I'm posting Chapter 2!  It's longer than Chapter 1. :D Hope you guys enjoy!

Chapter 2

“Why, hello!  You’re up!” she said.

She walked over to me.  I couldn’t speak I was so scared.

“I’m Clara Watkins, but please just call me Clara.  All the students here do.  You’re Mikailah Matthews, right?” she asked me.

I nodded, frightened.

“Wh-where am I?” I managed to ask.

Clara grinned and gestured to the window.

“Why don’t you see for yourself?” she said.

I walked slowly over to the window, drew back the curtains, and peered out.  My breath caught.  I was staring out onto a winter wonderland!  There was a big, white field with horses... no, not horses.  There were pegasuses in the field, just like the posters in the room!

My eyes looked down and traveled up the building I was in.  I was even more surprised when I saw grey stone turrets everywhere.  I was in a castle!

I turned back to Clara.

“What is this place?  It’s... amazing!” I said.

“This is Magia Magnífico Castle; that’s Spanish for Magnificent Magic.  It’s where you learn magic and how to control your magical abilities.” Clara said simply.

I stared at her.  Magical abilities?

“Are you joking?  I don’t have any magical abilities.” I said.
“Yes, you do Mikailah.  You’re a witch, just like me.  You don’t know it, but you are.  You remember yesterday, when you heard footsteps and then sent that purple ball hurling?  Well, I’m sure you were wondering what that was, weren’t you?”

I nodded.

“Well, that was... a lightning ball.  And those footsteps were us, coming to save you and take you here.” Clara said.

A lightning ball?  I had thrown lighting?

“How is that even possible?  And why were you coming to get me?” I asked, beyond confused now.

“It’s possible because... well, it’s possible, simply put.  There is magic in this world, even though lots of people may not think so.  You’ll see in a minute.” said Clara.

Clara hesitated a second before saying her next point.

“And to answer your next question... the reason we were coming after you was to save you from your parents.” she said softly.

I flushed, embarrassed.

“You know... what they’ve done to me?” I asked her quietly.

Clara nodded.

“I do.  All the staff here do.  Believe me, we’ve all wanted to get you out of that place way sooner than now, but the laws here are that we cannot take you from your parents, whatever kind, until you are fourteen.  And you just celebrated your fourteenth birthday three days ago, right?  On January second?” she asked me.

“Yes, that’s right.” I said.  For my birthday, I had gotten a ratty old pair of socks.  I had spent it by myself in my room because my parents were out until two o'clock in the morning at some party.  It hadn’t been a great birthday, that’s for sure.

“So we’ve been planning for weeks to rescue you.  We planned for it to be last night.  So my fellow teachers here, Mrs. Darton and Mrs. Hathis  and settled down outside to watch until your parents lights went out, which ended up being around eleven thirty.  We were just getting ready to use magic to force ourselves inside when we saw you crawling out of your window.  So we waited in the shadows, and then followed you at a distance until you were a good distance away from your house.  Then we were going to use magic to rescue you.  But then you heard us... well, I should say, you heard Mrs. Darton.  She’s not always the most quiet person, mind you.  And then you shot that lightning ball at us!  It barely missed Mrs. Hathis, not even kidding!  We were trying to decide what to do, since you apparently could put up a fight.  Then you passed out, and our job was made easier.  We just transported over to the castle and brought you here.” Clara finished.  She paused for a moment to catch her breath.

Despite this whole story, I was still a tiny bit doubtful about everything.  I needed Clara to do one more thing.

“You keep saying you used magic.  If you wouldn’t mind, I’d like you to show me how you use magic.” I said, looking at Clara.

Clara smiled happily.

“Of course!  I was wondering when you would ask that.  You might want to stand back.” she said.

I ran over to the bed and climbed up, wondering what I was about to see.  Clara pushed back the sleeves of her robes and then muttered the words “Lightning Strike.”

Suddenly, a streak of lightning struck the floor.  I jumped back, hitting my head on the headboard on the bed.  When I crawled tentatively forward, expecting to see the floor damaged, I was surprised to see that there was no damage, and everything was fine just like before!

Clara seemed to know what I was thinking.

“I can choose whether or not I actually want damage done, just by thinking about it.  Obviously, I didn’t want the floor broken or anything, since it was just for show.” she explained, grinning a bit.

I took a deep breath.  So magic was real.  This was... in a word, epic.

“But how did you know I had magical abilities?” I asked Clara.

“Well, since I’m the Head Lightning Teacher here, I could sense in you that you had the same power as me.  This “sixth sense” helped me realize where you were located and all those details.” Clara said.

“So you’re my teacher?  But you seem so...” I hesitated.

Clara laughed.  “Nice?  Young?” she said.

I smiled for the first time that day.

“Yes, both of those.  In all the books I’ve ever gotten my hands on, all the professor’s are so... old and strict.” I said.

“Well, here we try to make learning fun.  That’s what it’s supposed to be, after all.  Don’t get me wrong, there are... dangers out there.  But still, we don’t want to be bad people ourselves.” Clara said.

I nodded, a bit puzzled.  What sort of dangers?

Before I could ask Clara that, however, she turned towards the door and said “Come on, Mikailah.  I’ll give you a tour of the place.”

I hope you guys liked it!

I'm going to a sleepover party later!! I'm really excited!!

Love,
Hannah
